It was the dedicated techno floor, so I tried to fit it concept-wise. It's mostly twisted minimal and techno tunes, going athmosphaerically up and down as the time passed almost unknowingly by. Boy George E-Kreisel bangs another SPOILER night since ages @ Villa. Great liveacts playing, check it out. Looking forward to dj upstairs again. Villa proudly announces the rebirth of SPOILER at Villa 54. Come over for a great unconventional mixture between any style in Dance Music. That what we are known for. We spoil you! We've got a Live Floor controlled by well-known Motor Act, E-KREISEL who gives his first Berlin Live show in ages. Followed by his buddies MITTEKILL who proved their hilarious thrash attitude to selected nerdiasitcs with their boozing hymn "Wasser oder Wodka".  MAGNUM 38, the newest Shitkatapult shooting star, was lately pulled over while pointing a gun at Angela Merkel. Thank god it was a hoax.

Better be aware of Knicken DJ PETER BOUNCE, who is expected to show us once again his juggling skills on the decks. WIESEL & CAPTAIN KOMA just finished their last production for Powder and Louder and serve a flat footed electro/techno set to hook U up to world conspiracy. Our Berlin Mitte Institut corespondent FRESH MEAT tunes in and gives us a taste between House and Techno, with plans to get your ass moving. MOLEX already brought us to Fidget, with his own label imprint KleinKunst and is ready to rumble the humble.

Text: Hipster in der Berliner Techno-Szene

Hier habe ich eine Hausarbeit über sogenannte "Hipster" auf Skribd gefunden. Hipster scheinen mir wichtige Teilnehmende der Berliner Techno-Szenen, daher verdient dieser Text eine Verlinkung in unser Rubrik "Wissen über die Techno-Szene".  Zwar beziehen die Ausführungen sich nicht explizit auf "Hipster in der Berliner Techno-Szene", aber ein wenig Übertragungseigenleistung sei interessierten Lesenden gegönnt. Nicht zuletzt sind Hipster kein technoszenen-spezifisches Phänomen, sondern gehören zur Vielzahl der Formen ihrer Teilnehmenden, die sich aufgrund ihrer (launischen) Interessen kurz- oder längerfristiger in ihnen bewegen.

Hipster wurden bereits häufiger journalistisch behandelt, mit allerdings zumeist schwachen Texten: Deren AutorInnen präsentieren kaum einordnenden Bezug, wenig informativen Inhalt  und mangelnde Distanz zum Thema. Die Texte wirken abwertend und halbwissend, polemisch und gezielt polarisierend zum Zwecke von Öffentlichkeitsmaximierung. Aus ihnen lernt man mehr über die Lage des Journalismus, als über das tatsächliche Thema.

Diese Hausarbeit hingegen gibt einen schönen Einblick in wissenschaftliche Theorie über Hipster, zeichnet das Hipstertum historisch nach und reflektiert es aktuell. Ich empfehle zur Lektüre besonders das gesamte Kapitel 3. (Sind nur 4-5 Seiten, keine Sorge Thanks for sharing Helge Peters (UDK).

Fresh Meat für BLN.FM auf der re:publica Messe 14-16. April 2010

Tach zusammen ! BLN.FM überträgt erfreulicherweise live von der re:publica Messe aus dem Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin. Mittwoch von 16-20 Uhr und Freitag tagsüber ist Fresh Meat an den Mikros mit von der Partie und wird Interviews mit Vortragenden aufnehmen und von der Messe berichterstatten. An allen drei Tagen kann man sich in Berlin von 17-20 Uhr auf der Berliner Frequenz 97,2Mhz die Live-Interviews anhören, anschließend natürlich auch nochmal via BLN.FM. Mehr Info zum Spektakel gibts im Blog bei BLN.FM. Welche Themen oder auch nur Aspekte sollte ich eurer Meinung nach in die Interviews integrieren, was interessiert euch besonders? Zum Beispiel bezüglich Musik oder Techno-Szene.

Tracks have been released now, CLICK HERE to buy. What a feast ! We received 196 submissions, which is amazing! Thank you for investing your time fot this project. We knew the selection process would be hard, and yes, it was a pain! We had to drop good remixes because of the sake of a suitable release which follows the concept of FLASH. At the end we decided on the most suitable remixes. We took more than we planned to take and we will release them digitally first. If the sales are good and would recoup a vinyl production we will press a vinyl of the four best selling tracks on the release. The winners are contacted, their tracks will be mastered and soon released on FLASH. More info coming soon

05.06.2010: Party – Villa Berlin Summer Closing Party plus Afterhour

The summer is coming and Villa is taking a break for some months to recharge and reactivate new super powers to please you with a fresh look and amazing bookings next season.  Before that, we're facing a "Big Bang Closing Party" that will leave an impression for the time we're gone.
