„Im Licht der sozioökonomischen Strukturkrise verweist das Schlagwort eines »neuen Unternehmertums« zum einen auf individualisierte Existenzstrategien oder Ausgrenzung aus sozialen Arbeitskontexten (…) Zum anderen hebt es aber auch das gekonnte Ausbalancieren zwischen staatlichen Transferzahlungen, kurzfristigen Jobs sowie Selbstständigkeitsstrukturen hervor, die von immer mehr jungen Akteuren aus dem Bereich der Kulturproduktion praktiziert werden (müssen) (…) In Berlin spitzte sich diese Strukturformation in Begriffen wie »neues Prekariat« und »urbane Penner« im Jahr 2006 zu: Hochqualifiziert und zugleich geringe Einkommen mit hohen Bindungen an studentische oder subkulturelle Milieus kennzeichnen das stilistische role-model des neuen »Berliner Selbstunternehmers«. (…) Hinter dieser Selbstertüchtigungssemantik zeichnet sich ein neuer Modus der Wissensökonomie ab, der radikal auf kurzfristigen Kreativinnovationen, definitiven Arbeitsflexibilitäten und immensen Anforderungen der Selbstorganisation basiert, sich aber zugleich auf minimalen sozialen Sicherungssystemen sowie dünner Kapitaldeckung entfaltet (…)¹

Kandel – Familie Schroffenstein EP

"Diskomafia is proud to announce Kandel’s “Familie Schroffenstein” EP, which tells the story of a weird family vacation full of surprises. The EP features 4 distinct dancefloor tracks that are bound to be loved by DJs for they tooly feel and by the partycrowd for their fun factor. The title track “Familie Schroffenstein” is an unusual piece of house music, where the main elements are a repetitive synthie melody mingled with pseudo-saxophone funkyness, both topping a wobbly bassline. “Im Nagetiermuseum” is an ode to the Berlin nightlife, featuring an acidic bass, flying cut & paste sounds and odd percussive elements that generate a driving dancefloorkiller. “Die Reise zum heiligen Berg” is the most ‘beautiful’ of the 4 tracks, it refers to a more ‘classic’ Detroit approach in a handcrafted analogue shell.
