28.01.2011, Party & Performance: CZech It ! @ Mikz Club @ Das Weekend: Audio Visual Art Projects from Czech Republic and local DJs from Berlin

First edition of CZech it! points out the most interesting audio-visual art projects from Czech republic presented together with local Berlin techno scene. It ! brings different view on electronic music and its possibilities of visualization.  MIKZ is located at the south of Friedrichshain in large ex-industrial zone. The club was reconstructed from an old factory, where the train breaks were repaired. The genius loci of this warehouse area remains till now. The main concept of the club is to keep its industrial character and underground feeling Production is on from 2008 and can present long list of past events from local and international techno, electro, drum’n’bass and dubstep nights, gender parties and art projects. The club has two floors, main stage with a 10kW soundsystem, upper stage with a 4kW for DJs, live acts and concerts.

14.01.2011, Party: Feiertag @ Mikz Club, 2nd Floor Berlin Mitte Institut DJ Team all nite long, 1st Floor Drum & Bass !

Kameraden, wieso lassen wir uns Feiertage eigentlich durch antiquierte Institutionen und Traditionen vorschreiben? Warum feiern wir an gesetzlichen Feiertagen entweder Tote oder auferstandene Tote? Wir leben doch, und ist das nicht wesentlich feierlicher?! Wir machen diesen Quatsch nicht mehr mit! Wir fordern mehr Feiertag! 2011 startet eine Revolution der Lebensfreude, geplant ist ein dicker Bruch mit der verstaubten Konvention: Genossinnen und Genossen, ab heute feiern wir uns selber!  Ab Januar wird so mancher Freitag zum Feiertag im MIKZ, das mit erstklassigem Soundsystem und in schickes neues Bachstelzen Design gehüllt, den idealen Austragungsort für Revolutionen dieser Art darstellt. Auf zwei Floors bietet sich nun die Gelegenheit einfach mal euch selbst zu feiern. Unterstützung findet ihr dabei stets durch internationale Mitstreiter, alliierte Matadore der elektronischen Tanzmusik.  Zum Auftakt am 14. Januar konnten Platten-Baader Optical und Rudi RymeTyme Dutschke aus der revolutionären Zelle Virus in London gewonnen werden. Auf dem Tech-Housefloor hingegen lässt das Berlin Mitte Institut mal ordentlich die Korken der Revolte knallen.

†† 21.01-23.01.2011: Villa Berlin Closing Party †† Open All Weekend – Even During Daytime

The rumors are true, we are closing this month. Its sad for all of us involved but we want you to know that we have enjoyed every second of your company, this 3 day celebration is a final “Thank you” to all the people we have worked with, all the fantastic DJs of Berlin, all the loyal clubbers and participators, all the lovers of new music, all the fans of Villa and of Berlin, that have been with us (some all the way since 2005) …on this journey.

Good times! And thank you all!

Now for some more upbeat news
- we have built a new dance floor in our basement, and you will get the only chance ever to dance downstairs at Villa 21 – 23 January.
- we are staying open for 3 days straight!
- our secret guests are unbelievable!
- its gonna be a bananas weekend!

Usually we list all the DJs and try to write a little sentence about them though this time that’s just silly, we will just let you have a look at the line up and you can decide yourself if its worth coming or not
