Alter Text: Mehrmals im Monat sind sie in Berliner Clubs unterwegs, an Feiertagen spielen sie bis zu vier mal in einer Nacht auf verschiedenen Veranstaltungen. Mit ihrer Regelmäßigkeit und Vielzahl an Gigs verkörpern sie den Traum vieler Bedroom-DJs: Die Berliner Lokalhelden bzw. auch kurz “Locals”, “lokale Zieher” oder “Szene-DJs” genannt. Auf kaum einer Veranstaltung dürfen sie fehlen. Sie sind in der Szene populär und bekannt dafür die Crowd ins Dilirium zu spielen. Wenn sie auflegen, dann weiß das Publikum: Die Musik wird spitze und die Veranstaltung gut besucht. Oder doch alles quatsch? Diese Sendung dient dazu, das Phänomen über Musik und Interviews ein wenig zu ergründen.

For every COTN show we invite several heads from Berlin's night scene with the aim

• to have good music played by them
• to have them talk about their background and their motivation behind DJing / event promoting
• to get to know, how a typical Techno event is organised
• to bring the guests from different projects together, to support  networking and an lively communication

For the first show we invited the following:  Alex aka 100tons, running the Fish' n Slips parties at Golden Gate club and being a DJ in and around Berlin, Flamea, responsible for parts of the organisation of the Delikat Möbelrücken parties and being an enthusiastic DJ too, Bastian Kurzweil aka (B)Tonmischer, a booker, event organiser and DJ from Berlin's RAW club, Nils Petersohn, a just starting event organiser for Stilbruch and Tanz im Garten. And we will have Fresh Meat, Kandel and Robosonic in the studio the squeeze the guests on information.

Until this show starts off on Monday, 7pm, on the 6th of July 2009.

Ursprünglicher Sendungstext: Disco is (scheinbar) back! Bereits im Frühjahr kündigte sich ein vermehrtes Vorkommen dieses Muskikstils hier und dort auf Veranstaltungen an, die Disco Hardliner sind sowieso nie von dieser Ästhetik weggekommen. Nachdem  sich die Entwicklung von Minimal zu deepen House-Spielereien wandelte, scheint uns nun der nächste "Hype" ins Haus zu stehen. Wer weiß?  Oder ist das alles doch nur überbewertet? Wir werden es sehen. Jedenfalls haben wir uns neulich bei der Berliner Veranstalter-Crew Get Deep vom Disco-Sound ordentlich verführen lassen und beschlossen, eine Sendung rund um diesen Musikstil zu produzieren. Zu Gast haben wir ein paar Spezialisten des Sounds, die sich als Produzenten und DJs in diesem Genre bereits einen Namen gemacht haben: Daniel Wang und Emil Doesn't Drive.

Besonders spannend war das Beobachten des Szenarios, so unwirklich im kleinen Wohnzimmer und zugleich direkt vor der Nase. Das Erleben von Klang und Kreativität durch Technologie; durch das Interagieren mit standardisierten und selbst verfremdeten Interaktionselementen, der soziale Charakter kollektiv komponierter Rhythmen, die Interaktion zwischen den einzelnen Einheiten des Orchesters. Sei es per Midi, per Geste oder über Worte.

Wir vom BMI waren Zeuge einer orchestralen Live-Produktion elektronischer Musik, wie man sie heute immer weniger bzw. überhaupt nur noch ganz selten antrifft.  Gegenwärtig wird Techno ja vor allem anhand von Allround-Musik-Softwares von einzelnen Personen oder gelegentlich auch Produzentenmultiplos an Computern geschaffen und als fertige Tracks konzipiert. Hier war alles improvisiert und basierte auf den Prinzipien von Takt, Loop und angelernten musikalischen Mustern (habitualisiert), die man "gefühlsecht" einsetzte, wo und wie es passte. Herauskam eine 4-stündige Klangkollage mit zwischenzeitlichen Interviews. Hört sie, hört die Musik, lasst euch inspirieren und sagt uns, was ihr davon haltet. Gerne könnt ihr es auch weiterleiten und mit euren Freunden teilen. Wir hoffen, das nachträgliche Verfolgen als Audio- oder Videomitschnitt bereitet euch Freude.

Initialer Sendungstext: "19 Zoll Stammtisch" ist eine Gruppe an sich in Berlin regelmäßig treffenden Menschen, die einer gemeinsamen Leidenschaft  fröhnen: Dem Muszieren mit analoger, elektrischer Musiktechnik. Dazu bringt jeder seine kleinen und größeren Lieblinge mit, schließt sie an ein großes Mischpult an, schließt sich an den Taktgeber an und stimmt bei den anderen bereits Spielenden mit ein. Dabei entstehen experimentelle und ungeplante Sounddesigns, welche sich aufgrund ihres Entstehungszusammenhangs vor allem durch eines Auszeichnen: Ihre Einzigartigkeit bei gleichzeitigiger Kurzlebigkeit, der besondere Live-Charakter lebendiger Musik, die sich nicht als Musikkonserve in die vorherrschende Form des "Tracks" in die elektronischen Musikkultur einpasst. Die Treffen von Stammtisch 19 dienen aber nicht nur dem Musizieren, sondern auch dem Vergemeinschaften, Austauschen sowie Frickeln, Manipulieren und Bauen an/von anloger Musiktechnik – Do-It-Yourself!

Mai 2010 von 19-23 Uhr live in Video und Audio zu übertragen und sie gleichzeitig mit all unseren und euren Fragen zu durchlöchern. Seid live auf dem Videostream  und im Chat dabei! Resümee des Florian Meindl Remix-Contest 10.04.2010 by berlinmitteinstitut

A short history on this: In 2009/2010 we did two live shows with Florian Meindl broadcasting the production of a techno track live on webTV for the first time – the result is the track “The Way it Took us”. Since that was such a big success and well accepted by our public, we decided to make a remix contest and enable the chosen remixers a remix-release on Flash Recordings.

This release is the result of a project from Florian Meindl in corporation with Berlin Mitte Institut (Fresh Meat & Kandel) and Soundcloud. The aim was to show a full production process live on TV and audio-stream and get feedback and suggestions live from the audience. It was an experimental approach because nobody knew where it would lead to and the interaction between unknown people in the audience and the producer (Florian) lead to an unpredictable result. The project used modern technologies like a live TV stream, live audio stream, live chat and all features within Soundcloud like a group and comments on the timeline of the delivered remixes.

The project began with Florian producing a track within 8 hours live at Berlin Mitte Institut, where over 10.000 listeners could get involved in the actual production process with questions and ideas. The video stream was completely overloaded and the project was viewed more than 30.000 times on the live stream and afterwards onYoutube. It has been a full success and it was the first time such a project happened.

The result is an clubtune with big strings called “The way it took us”. Because of the success of the project, the makers decided to do a remix contest via Soundcloud in order to see how people would reinterpret Florian’s work. After a month there have been 196 submissions from all over the world, from which 8 were selected by Florian, Fresh Meat and Kandel.
